MOZART REQUIEM FOR NEXT YEAR!
After a poll of participants and considering repertoire that would allow most people to take part we have chosen Mozart's Requiem for this year's performance and hope to follow on the success of Messiah with another much-loved classic. The Requiem is a vibrant, reflective and at times fiery piece famously unfinished in small parts on Mozart's death. If you know it, you can start practising now. If not, you will find endless versions to download or listen to on Youtube.

The latest news from the BIM team is that we are now a constituted body. We have constituted as a membership organisation - all those of you who have already participated automatically become members - and we will have our first AGM very swiftly, probably over one of the lunches during the December weekend. This became necessary rather urgently when it became apparent that Highland Council couldn't continue its fund-holding role for BIM beyond our last event.
If we hadn't constituted ourselves (as BIM Projects - see the new logo!) we risked losing all our hard-won profit which will be reinvested in our event this December. The Black Isle Leisure Centre team will still be closely involved - we just can't channel funds through them as we did last time.
Now the search for additional 2010 funders begins in earnest. We have one or two leads, but any other suggestions or donations welcomed - just get in touch with us via the website. One suggestion that has been made is that we could perform the Mozart Requiem in memory of particular individuals - perhaps music-lovers - whose families would like to commemorate them in a beautiful and memorable way.
Well all the hard work was worth while. Congratulations to everyone for a superb performance. The weekend seems to have struck a chord with many from the audience, the participants and the professional performers and many of their comments are posted on the Reviews and Reflections Page. We also received a great review which is available on the Hi-Arts Webpage
http://www.hi-arts.co.uk/Default.aspx.LocID-hianewq56.RefLocID-hiacg5005.Lang-EN.htm Despite a few problems with fog and airports at the start of the weekend we had a hitch free time and are now thinking about the next one. All the evaluation forms are being studied to see what ideas have been suggested and please keep an eye on this site to get any news. NEW NEWS NEWS NEWS NEWS ..............................
