Messiah gives the opportunity to sing some of the finest choral music ever written and, in the case of the Hallelujah Chorus, some of the most famous.  If you are already a singer in a chorus or choir or are a good sight-reader then you will enjoy this experience. We will rehearse intensively with piano to start with and then, on the performance day, will join together with the orchestra for the rehearsals and performances.  The rehearsals will be led by the conductor for the whole event Alasdair Nicolson and the choral specialist David Knotts.

VOICES

Soprano, Alto/Mezzo/Counter tenors, Tenor and Bass/Baritone voices are welcome to join us. And if you're not sure we'll try to establish your voice type in a quick warm up session.

SCORES

We will provide scores for the weekend but it would help if you already have a vocal score and could bring it.

READING MUSIC

With such a short rehearsal period it is going to be difficult to join in unless you have a knowledge of the piece or are a good sightreader.

SOLOS

Unfortunately we don't have time to audition soloists for this performance so there will be renowned international singers joining us for the weekend. If you are a budding soloist then we will have Masterclasses arranged around the rehearsals where you can take advantage of expert advice and tips.
